Inspired by nature, art and movement
L'AUNE jewelry is meticulously handmade in Montreal by Karine Denault.
Timelessly elegant pieces available in a variety of precious metals.
In contrast with the speed of the world, I create elegant, delicate jewelry by hand in my Montreal workshop, with patience and perfectionism. Mini wearable sculptures to embellish everyday life with intention and simplicity.
The age-old lost-wax technique is my favorite. It offers infinite possibilities, and its slow, meditative process stops time in its tracks (a shape is first sculpted in wax before being cast in metal). I can spend hours sculpting and refining the small shapes that will become pendants, rings, earrings...
The values that guide all choices
-
Mini wearable sculptures that follow you everywhere, all the time. Add art and beauty to your everyday life.
-
With their elegant, timeless design, L'AUNE jewelry will stand the test of time and never go out of style. You'll wear them so often, they'll become a second skin.
-
Handcrafted with care and attention to detail using quality materials, they are made to order, especially for you. The antithesis of fast fashion, for those who recognize the value of artisanal work.
-
To avoid waste and overproduction, and preserve natural resources: jewelry is made to order, scrap metal is recycled to become new jewelry, and the beautiful boxes and shipping packaging are made from FSC-certified recycled cardboard.
-
Each jewelry is protected by a quality guarantee and contributes to the mission of Maison Passages, a Montreal organization that supports young women in difficulty aged 18 to 30, helping them to stay off the streets. Because when you buy L'AUNE jewelry, you're indulging yourself while supporting an important cause.
Making everyday life more beautiful
Small series⎜Custom creations⎜One-of-a-kind pieces
With their fluid, timeless shapes inspired by nature, art and movement, L'AUNE jewelry stand the test of time and fashion. They can go everywhere with you and live with you. They'll become a second skin.
For me, jewelry is an accessory to cherish, to keep for a long time, to wear often. The more you wear it, the more it becomes a part of you, defining you in a way. And it has the power to evoke memories. It reminds us of the person who gave it to us, of an important moment in our lives, of who we were or who we hope to become...
It's a great privilege for me to create objects that will become so intimate for you.
My many lives
I often say that I've had several lives...
I've been involved in the arts for many years. As a contemporary dance choreographer and performer, I have collaborated with many other artists and presented my work in Canada and abroad. I was also artistic advisor for the Festival TransAmériques, as well as editor and co-director of Le Quartanier publishing house and the art and literature magazine OVNI Magazine.
When I was 13, I dreamed of becoming a jeweller and a dancer. A jeweller who dances. I'd forgotten all about it! Jewelry-making came after dancing, but now it takes up most of my time.
Partly self-taught, I have studied jewelry and gemmology since 2016 at the Centre des arts visuels de Montréal, the École de joaillerie de Montréal, the École de gemmologie de Montréal and the prestigious Jewellery Academy in London. I have been a member of the Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec since 2022.
